About
Amy started loving music at a young age. Her father started her on the flute in his middle school band and she enjoyed playing music in school, church, and local orchestras, bands, and jazz ensembles in Oklahoma. A summer at Interlochen and 5 years at the Frost School of Music in Miami sparked her interest in folk and improvised music. The Frost School was where she wrote music for and put together her first quartet with 3 other jazz musicians.
During her 10 years in Boston, she sang and played flute in the family band Opal Puckett, wrote music for and played various instruments with the pop-up band Honey, made two albums of children’s music, and composed and recorded two albums with her husband, Steve, under the name Tweet Tweet.
Amy’s flute playing has been featured on soundtracks such as, Fantasia: Music Evolved and Dragons: Rescue Riders. More recently, she and her family moved to Nashville, TN, where she subs with the Nashville Philharmonic, studies flute with Molly Barth, and studies Alexander Technique with Sally Ahner. She is on faculty at the Covenant Presbyterian Conservatory. Amy has a deep passion for environmental conservation, studies birds alongside the Warner Park BIRD crew, and homeschools her two children.
